Cutting Instructions
Prepare and cut your file
Download the file from my resource library and download it onto your device. You need to unzip it and then load into Cricut Design Space. The file also comes in DXF, PDF, or PNG if you’d like to use another cutting machine or cut it out by hand.
When you open the file in design space, ungroup all the layers that are grouped. Then change all the lines to score lines instead of cut lines.
Next, select all the layers of one part of the box and attach them. Do that with all the rest of the sections so the score lines stay where they are supposed to when cutting it out. Send the cut files to cut on your Cricut.
Assemble Gift Boxes
5×3 Gift Box
For the 5″ tall gift box, make sure your pieces are laid out like this.
Glue the acetate window in place and wait for it to dry. I forgot to do this first.
Fold all the score lines for the main box and flaps.
Glue the bottom flaps to the piece with the window.
Glue the main pieces of the box together.
Fold the bottom closed.
On the top of the box, is a built in holder for the top of the ornament to keep it from moving side to side. Fold the flaps upwards and glue in place.
The last piece to assemble is the stand that goes into the box where the ornament sits. This also helps it from moving around in the box.
To use this with the ornament, place the loose stand in the bottom, place the ornament inside the box. Then place the stop stand over the ornament and close the top flap.
4 inch gift box
Glue the acetate window in place and wait for it to dry.
Glue the bottom flaps to each main piece of the box.
Glue the main pieces of the box together.
Close all your flaps and you have a box
4 inch Heart Filigree box
Follow the same steps above to assemble this box as well.
