Prepare Cut Files
Bring in the cut file and PNG file of the truck into Cricut Design Space.
When you upload the truck, choose the complex image type. And choose the print and cut option.
Change the width of the truck to 4.5″ wide. Ungroup everything and spread out all the pieces except the main card pieces with the score and cut lines. You can see how I’ve spread everything on my program. Make sure to change the score lines to score instead of cut. You can see on my screen that they are the dashed lines. The score lines are all of the horizontal lines. The vertical lines are cut lines.
For the inner card, put the words and swirls on top of the pop-up card in the layers panel and set to draw.
Select all the layers for the inner card and select “attach” below the layers panel so they all stay together. Also attach the back panel with it’s score line.
Assemble Card
Print the truck on your home printer on white cardstock. Then cut out the truck and all your other pieces on your cutting machine or by hand. I used a gold pen for the words and swirls and then filled in the spaces by hand with the same pen.
Next, attach the two layers of snowy hills with foam square stickers. These will add some dimension. The smaller snowy hill goes on front of the bigger snowy hill. Also place foam adhesive squares on the backs of the three trees.
Fold the inner card score lines so the pop up tabs go inside of the card.
Place glue on the front of the pop up tabs, and put the snow in place, centering it on the card. Close the card so you know that they are in the right place to allow the card to close.
Now add the trees above the pop-up tabs.
Place a little bit of glue at the bottom of the truck and glue it to the small snowy hill.
Open and close it to make sure nothing is preventing the card from closing.
If you’d like, add some glitter or faux snow. Apply glue to the bottom of the snow and the tops of the trees. Then sprinkle your desired embellishment.
Now we are going to glue the card backing onto the pop-up card. Close the pop-up card and spread glue all around the perimeter.
Place the folded edge of the pop-up card into the folded edge of the backing, while centering between the edges. Then close the card and press.
Place a book on top to hold in place while drying.
Repeat for the other side of the card. Make sure to close your card after glueing while it dries. You don’t want to glue your card and have it dry all the way open, otherwise it won’t close.
The finished card measures about 5 1/4″ x 7.5″.
